At just 24 years old, artist Sheena Banerji is making waves worldwide with her passionate depictions of celebrities through portraits, wall art and unique 3D rangolis. Her creations feature themes ranging from Sikh and Hindu Gurus to some of her favourite Punjabi artists.
Sheena has personally gifted hand-painted portraits to singer Amrit Mann and received social media praise from stars like Diljit Dosanjh and Sunanda Sharma. Determined to challenge the notion that art is a trivial occupation, Sheena aims to establish herself as a leading painter and artist.
“In my family, we have doctors, engineers and lawyers but no artists. When I said I wanted to pursue art, I was mostly laughed at and relatives said it wasn’t a profession worth pursuing. But my parents stood by me and I kept at it,” she said. “My goal is to show those who doubted me that artists can earn a decent livelihood and change the world in ways others can’t.”
